May 30th Seattle Baroque: For All Our Sisters is Postponed
This performance, the final event scheduled on our series, will be postponed into the 2020-21 concert season, with a date still to be determined. Ticket holders are encouraged to donate their tickets and will receive a letter acknowledging the donation. Patrons can also apply their current ticket purchase to the performance and attend when it is rescheduled.
For All Our Sisters, presented by Early Music Seattle, weaves together centuries of music and poetry to help us understand the powerful women in our collective past and present—especially those whose voices have been silenced by history’s (mostly male) gatekeepers and myth-makers.
In lieu of the performance that was scheduled May 30, we will be posting short videos by a diverse array of artists, including a reading from Washington State Poet Laureate Claudia Castro Luna and excerpts from a new cantata by Aaron Grad and Jennifer Bullis that lets the mythological Sirens finally speak for themselves. In these challenging times, we acknowledge that it is more urgent than ever to attune our ears to marginalized voices, and that starts with all our sisters.
