We decided to be creative with the Annual Soirée this year and instead of a sit-down dinner, we will be hosting a house party complete with substantial hors d’oeuvres and decadent desserts. This event will feature a performance by dynamic violinist Rachel Barton Pine who will delight you with her musical artistry. It will be an evening to remember with delicious food, wine and inspiring music providing the backdrop to celebrate Early Music Seattle and raise money for its artistic and education programs.
All of this will take place in The Admiral’s House, a historic home built in 1944 that is a primary symbol of the major role that the U.S. Navy played in Seattle from World War II until the 1990s.
It was not only the home of the commanding admiral and his
family, but a center for official government entertaining. Until
its closure in 2006, nearly 1,000 visitors were entertained annually, including royalty, foreign dignitaries and military and government leaders. The house sits on four acres in Magnolia, overlooks Elliott Bay and has an unobstructed view of the Seattle city skyline and Mt. Rainier.
