For our first concert of Musique du Jour Presents’ 2026 season, we are exploring the incredible life and legacy of a remarkable woman of music history: Sara (Itzig) Levy (1761–1854). She was a key figure in Berlin’s cultural life whose musical interests connected many of the most influential composers of the 18th and early 19th centuries– including JS, CPE and WF Bach, Haydn, and her great-nephew and niece: Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn. Come learn more about her story and hear works inspired by the woman who changed classical music history! These are string quartets with a story. Performed on period instruments.
