After a weekend of music you may be inspired to try your hand at a reading session of Brazilian music! The New Baroque Orchestra becomes the Orquestra Nova Barroca when flutist KTzinha, aka Karen Tsao, leads them in an exploration of popular selections from the Brazilian Choro repertoire with parts she has adapted for the group’s instrumentation. Parts will be available a week in advance. Even if you don’t play, there will be plenty for listeners to enjoy. Besides giving public workshops, Karen also conducts independent research on choro and other Brazilian musics and co-hosts the monthly community Choro jam session at the Couth Buzzard Bookstore.
