Infusion Baroque: East is East

A multicultural collaboration of Eastern and Western musical traditions that transcends time and borders.

Join Infusion Baroque for a multicultural collaboration of Eastern and Western musical traditions that transcends time and borders. With guest artist Vidita Kanniks (soprano), Infusion Baroque members Sallynee Amawat and Rona Nadler present their program “East is East” – which aims to bring together music with ancient roots in Persia, India and Europe, and is performed on traditional and period instruments. A postmodern response to colonization, East is East highlights shared commonalities and a convergence of Eastern and Western performance practice.

Notice of Slight Program Change

Due to the new visa restrictions imposed on January 1, 2026, through Presidential Proclamation 10998, only three members of the originally scheduled ensemble will be able to attend the festival. Nevertheless, we are delighted to welcome guest artists Vidita Kanniks, Sallynee Amawat, and Rona Nadler for a scaled-down and special presentation of their “East is East” program at the Seattle Center for Chamber Music on Saturday, February 14 at 4:00 p.m. All Festival Pass Holders and East is East ticket holders will receive updated tickets to the HiFi Session with Kiya Tabassian and preferred entry for the afternoon performance.
