Amanda Keesmaat (baroque cello, basse de violon, lirone) is the director and creator of Space Time Continuo and principal cellist with Arion Baroque Orchestra in Montreal, Canada. She plays regularly with Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montreal (SMAM) and Clavecin en Concert. Amanda has toured Internationally with Les Violons du Roy (Quebec), Pacific Baroque Orchestra (Vancouver) and Tafelmusik (Toronto). As a specialist on basse de violon, Amanda belongs to Rendez-Vous Baroque Français, an ensemble specializing in French baroque music.
For 20 years, Amanda has frequently been at the heart of productions of La Nef, a Montreal group celebrating baroque music, French language traditional music and cross-over projects including composers such as Purcell and Dowland. Skye Consort, of which she is an original member, is busy touring in the United States, Canada and the U.K. with the project “Skye Consort & Emma Björling”. This project has been presented hundreds of times including at festivals, school outreach programs, live-streams and prestigious concert series’. Amanda has also played with Constantinople, a Montreal based ensemble dedicated to discovering sounds linking the East and West.
